I’m a mom, a singer, and an educator and makeup artist. After graduating from college with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education, I spent my early twenties as a middle school and high school choir teacher. In 2004, I decided to take my career in another direction. I was drawn to makeup, and was lucky to get a job with largest global cosmetics company! In the first year and a half, I was trained by other artists and educators for the brand and worked to get my hands on as many faces as possible. Before long, I was promoted and moved to a new city where I oversaw a team of more than 40 artists in 13 locations. In 2008, I took a job as a college administrator for a beauty school. Running a college full of future cosmetologists and estheticians was a view of another side of the beauty industry, but I found myself back with the brand that got me started in less than a year. I returned to my love of makeup as a Regional Makeup Artist. Now, after much encouragement from the makeup artists I train and educate, I’m finally working on branding me. Polished and Pretty is quickly gaining momentum and I’m excited to see what my future as a makeup artist and beauty blogger brings!
